Three students at the Leven School have been selected to receive scholarships from SKAL International.
Kennesaw State University’s recipients of the scholarships are Abshul Ellis, who received $1500, and Kristi Ellis and Paul Amend, each of whom received $2000 scholarship. Amend was also selected to represent SKAL International in Rome, Italy, in the spring.
SKAL International (SI) Atlanta believes in supporting the next generation of leaders in the travel and tourism industry, which is the leading employer worldwide. SI Atlanta works to raise funds each year in an auction to support the educational development of their members and to give support to future members. The scholarships, currently up to $2000 each, are awarded to full-time students enrolled in degree or certificate programs in travel and tourism.
“We were very pleased to award scholarships to KSU students. In addition to these scholarships, we were also able to send two KSU students, who are active members of Young SKAL Atlanta, to the international symposium in Rome last March, and one student to the Skal International USA (SIUSA) National meeting in Las Vegas this past August,” said Marylou Foley, the organization’s president.
