University's Colleges INTS degree - a perfect fit for the state's initiative "Go Back. Move Ahead."

Jayson Duncan petitioned to graduate this December with a BS in Integrative Studies – General Studies Track. Duncan is one of the several students who have taken advantage of this unique degree that provides a clear path to graduation by meeting the needs of adult learners through online or on-campus course options.
The General Studies Track is a new option in the BS in Integrative Studies program. This track allows students to combine one area of interest with specific course work designed to help them be successful in the workplace. Coursework includes classes in leadership, communications, business writing, information technology and the Senior Seminar in Integrative Studies. Students must also participate in a Service Learning activity.
This track is an attractive option to students who may not have a specific area of interest, may have many upper level courses in different areas, or those who are preparing for a field that requires more breadth than the Specialized Track can accommodate.
Duncan shared his appreciation with Ree Howard, assistant director of Integrative Studies: “I cannot express how grateful I am for your assistance with helping me obtain my degree, and what it means to my family and me. I truly appreciate your efforts, and the program you have help to put together as it was a life changer. This whole process to obtain my bachelor's degree took almost 12 years and a lot of life in between, but I made it and for that I thank you. This will allow me to go ahead and collect my raise at work.”
For Duncan, as is the case for many students, returning to college to complete a degree is challenging. Recognizing that challenge, the Office of the Governor’s committed to making it easier for those wanting to earn a degree in Georgia to do so by participating in the State’s “Go Back. Move Ahead” campaign. The campaign is designed to encourage Georgians to return to college and finish their degrees. Click here for more information about the campaign.
