Engaged Owl Leaders program described as a "life saver"

In a recent KSU Lifestyle article, a student paid the highest compliment to the Engaged Owl Leaders program (EOL) by describing it as a life changer.
On Oct. 19, Kristien Borgognoni described the positive effect that the Engaged Owl Leaders (EOL) program had on her life.
EOL, housed in the Center for Student Leadership (CSL), is a leadership program developed for first and second-year college students. This semester-long program provides students with solid foundational leadership skills to help them become more involved with other leadership opportunities. The program introduces leadership through meaningful discussions, activities, community service and a retreat.
Borgognoni credits Emily Clarke, one of the Center’s leadership coordinators, for being a fantasticadvisor during her participation in the program. Created by Clarke, the program is just one year off the ground. “I created EOL based on a program that I was involved in during graduate school. I took some of the curricula and worked with another employee to make it work for KSU students,” said Clarke.
When asked what advice she would give to students who are looking for leadership roles, Clarke responded, “As a student affairs professional, I feel that extra-curricular activities are vital to the college experience in every aspect regarding creating new friendships, networking and building leadership skills.”
