University College names Assistant Dean

Deborah Mixson-Brookshire has accepted the position of Assistant Dean of University College after an internal search led by Committee Chair, Michael Keleher and committee members Christian Hardigree, Jake Gross, Debbie Smith, Natasha Habers, Loretta Daniels and Robert Jordan.

 

Dean Keisha Hoerrner was pleased to announce that Mixson-Brookshire will be the new Assistant Dean effective immediately.  

 

The Assistant Dean for University College will focus on operations and fiscal forecasting, and the new Associate Dean will be charged with oversight for assessment, academic support services, and other initiatives based on the successful candidate's background and skill set.

 

Mixson-Brookshire will be responsible for oversight of college operational and distance education initiatives. She will serve as the primary administrator for academic scheduling and classroom optimization and develop reports for risk management, fiscal expenditures, college governance documents, and contribute to the college’s annual reports.  She will continue her work in a dual role as Distance Learning Director and Assistant Dean.
