MSFYS graduate students awarded research internships with NODA

Kathryn Wilhite, Margaret Murphy and Adrienne Harmer, all students in the Master of Science in First-Year Studies graduate program, received graduate research internships through NODA - The Association for Orientation, Transition, and Retention in Higher Education for the spring semester.
In their research internships, the three students will be working directly with the program’s director, Stephanie Foote, on two research projects for NODA and the NODA Research Committee.
The first project is a study focused on determining the relationship between participation in an orientation and transition initiatives and academic performance, participation in High-Impact Practices & co-curricular programs, sense of belonging and retention.
Wilhite, Murphy, and Hamer will complete an annotated bibliography documenting research and published best practice literature in the areas of orientation, retention, and transition for the second project.
