FYTS faculty named as co-directors for national learning community consortium

First-Year and Transition Studies faculty continue to be recognized as experts specializing in the best practices and positive outcomes of effective learning communities.
Cathy Bradford, director of Learning Communities, and Hillary Steiner, associate director of Learning Communities, were named co-directors of the National Learning Communities Consortium (NLCC) at the group's annual meeting Nov. 14 in Kansas City, Kansas.
As co-directors, Bradford and Steiner will lead the consortium, as well as organize and host the next year’s NLCC conference. The conference will be held at the Buckhead Marriott Conference Center Nov. 10-12, 2016. Dr. Jillian Kinzie, associate director at the NSSE Institute and research associate at the National Institute for Learning Outcomes Assessment (NILOA), has agreed to be the keynote speaker. The conference is expected to attract approximately 350 learning community faculty and administrators from across the country.
