Kennesaw State Chapter of Phi Eta Sigma National Honor Society inducts Lyons and Coleman

Linda Lyons, director of Strategic Initiatives and assistant professor of Education, and Donald Coleman, director of Orientation Programs have been recognized by the Phi Eta Sigma National Honor Society for their exemplary work as educators and supporters of the development of the whole student academically and socially.

After being nominated by their current or previous students, Lyons and Coleman were inducted into Phi Eta Sigma as honorary faculty members. The Executive Board of the Kennesaw State Chapter of Phi Eta Sigma selected Lyons specifically to receive an Honorary Faculty membership due to her demonstrated support and promotion of academic excellence, with an emphasis on first-year student success.

The induction ceremony, a formal program that heralds the Phi Eta Sigma tradition of academic excellence, integrity, initiative, and service to the community, was held on March 4. During it, Lyons and Coleman received Phi Eta Sigma key and honor cords, which complemented the academic regalia they were wearing.

Phi Eta Sigma is the oldest and largest national honor society that encourages and rewards academic excellence achieved during the first year in college. For more information about the KSU local chapter, please visit www.ksuphietasigma.com.
