Dean Hoerrner appointed several search committees this year as the college expanded to support key student success initiatives. Many of those search committees have completed their work while others are finalizing their activities to welcome new colleagues in the fall. University College is particularly pleased to welcome Dr. Lynn Stallings as the Associate Dean. Stallings brings 16 years of experience at Kennesaw State to the position.
The college is excited to welcome new faculty: Dr. Felicia Mainella to the Department of Leadership and Integrative Studies, Dr. Danelle Dyckhoff to the Department of First-Year and Transition Studies and Dr. Diana Barber to the Michael A Leven School of Culinary Sustainability and Hospitality. Mainella will hold a Lecturer position, while Dyckhoff and Barber will be joining their departments as Assistant Professors.
Search committees hosted finalists for two positions in April and May. Dean Hoerrner anticipates making announcements regarding the Chair of the Department of Leadership and Integrative Studies and the Michael A. Leven Distinguished Chair position in May. The search for a Lecturer within the Leven School will likely conclude in June following on-campus interviews in May.
The college has also received funding to hire staff positions in student support areas. Jason Ford, the assistant director of Supplemental Instruction is based on the Marietta campus. Christina Jones, the assistant director of the SMART Center is also based on the Marietta campus. Orientation and Transition Programs is in the process of hiring an Assistant Director of Orientation for the Marietta campus as well as a Transitions Coordinator to support programs on both campuses. Finally, the Department of Leadership and Integrative Studies will be hiring a new Integrative Studies advisor.
We look forward to welcoming our new colleagues and appreciate the dedication of the numerous faculty and staff members who have served on search committees this year.
