Integrative Studies lecturer Ree Howard annouces plans to retire

After seven years of outstanding service to University College, Dr. Ree Howard will be retiring this June. In addition to being assistant director of the Integrative Studies degree program, she is a lecturer of Leadership Studies.
Howard joined the University College team in 2009, where she combined her IBM corporate experience with her academic experience as well as her passion for students and teaching. She began teaching in the Department of First Year & Transition Studies, and in 2010, moved to the Department of Leadership & Integrative Studies where she taught in the Leadership program and advised students in the Integrative Studies program.
A local Georgian, Howard earned a B.S. degree from the University of West Georgia, an M.Ed. from Georgia State University and a Ph.D. from Texas A&M University. She has several years of teaching experience, both in the academic environment (public school & university) and in a corporate (IBM) setting.
“I've enjoyed the past seven years that I have spent in University College. My decision to retire was a hard one because I love my job and the people (students and colleagues) I work with on a daily basis. I thank each of you for the experience of getting to know you --- you will be missed. In this next phase of my life, I want to have the freedom to choose the projects/organizations to which I devote my time, and I want time to travel, so I have made the decision to retire and leave KSU. The memories I made here will be forever with me,” said Howard.
