The Department of First-Year and Transition Studies (FYTS) welcomes its new director,  Nirmal Trivedi, Ph.D. 

 

Trivedi will be responsible for overseeing the seminar program, hiring and supporting part-time instructors, developing new initiatives, and much more.

 

Trivedi comes to Kennesaw State University from Georgia Tech, where he oversaw First-Year Seminars and the Common Reading program as Director of Academic Transition Programs.

 

He received his doctorate in English from Boston College. In addition to teaching, researching and writing about transition studies, he is an American Studies scholar.
