Usher and Lyons awarded $10,800 grant

Carlton A. Usher, associate professor of Political Science, and Linda Lyons, director of Strategic Initiatives, have been awarded a $10, 800 grant from the University System of Georgia Affordable Learning Georgia (ALG) initiative.
The grant and proposal focus on reducing the cost of textbooks and enhancing GALILEO, Georgia’s Virtual Library and ALG’s parent initiative. A key strategy of the program is to provide grant-supported opportunities for USG faculty, libraries, and institutions to transform their use of textbooks and other learning materials into lower cost options for students.
Usher will serve as the Principal Investigator(PI) and project lead. Lyons will serve as the Faculty Subject Matter Expert as designated by the USG.
