MSFYS students receive NODA graduate research internships

Kathryn Wilhite, Margaret Murphy, and Adrienne Harmer, all students in the Master of Science in First-Year Studies (MSFYS) graduate program, have received graduate research internships through NODA (The Association for Orientation, Transition, and Retention in Higher Education) for the spring semester.
Stephanie Foote, the MSFYS program director, explains that, in their research internships, the three students will be working directly with her on two research projects for NODA and the NODA Research Committee. The first of these projects is a pilot study focused on determining the relationship between participation in orientation and transition initiatives and academic performance, and the impact of participation in High-Impact Practices and co-curricular programs on creating a sense of belonging and promoting retention. The second project will result in an annotated bibliography documenting research and published best-practice literature in the areas of orientation, retention, and transition.
Wilhite, Murphy, and Harmer are all excited to collaborate with Foote on these research projects.
