The NEST hires a new academic advisor

The NEST welcomes Salazec D. Spratling, its newest academic advisor. Spratling earned a bachelor’s degree in Human Services Administration from Bellevue University and a master’s of Education degree in Higher Education Administration from Georgia Southern University.
As a graduate intern working in Kennesaw State University’s First-Year and Transition Studies Department, he assisted at new student orientation sessions throughout the summer where he aided students with course selection and class registration, and he participated in the recruitment of first-generation students for the new “Quest” Learning Community.
Before joining KSU as an Academic Advisor in the NEST, Spratling held a position as a project manager at Fiserv (Financial Services Technology Company) and most recently as a business manager in the Early Childhood and Elementary Education Department at Georgia State University.
Spratling’s career objective is to support student growth and development by guiding and equipping students to reach their own personal, intellectual and professional goals.
In conjunction with offering academic advising, Spratling will also provide additional service to students by teaching First-Year Seminars. Spratling will begin his new role Sept. 14.
