The year of the student (and searches)

During our recent fall 2015 UC opening-of-the-semester meeting, Dean Keisha Hoerrner referred to this academic year as the Year of the Student (and Searches). The fast-growing number of faculty and staff in University College was excited to hear about the many growth opportunities for their college.
In a detailed presentation, Hoerrner shared the many successes experienced by the college thus far this year, such as the record number of first-year seminar sections being offered (176 to be exact), an increased number of part-time faculty, positive reception of the UC Global Fellows program by incoming students and their parents, and the first INTS General Studies track graduates.
Hoerrner also provided insight regarding the college’s new direction. UC will have an expanded physical presence on both the Kennesaw and Marietta campuses, will enhance programming through both private and foundation funding, and will launch three new administrative searches and multiple faculty searches.
The college is positioned to provide valuable community and global-based education engagement for students, whether in their first-year or transitioning through college.
